MXSA: Moto Kids

Moto Kids was launched in 2015 and is a fun race series for novice and amateur kids as a stepping stone before Club and Regional Racing. It is the breeding ground for the future generation of two wheeled enthusiasts, and for developing junior motorcycle riders. We provide a platform that makes motorcycle riding fun and gives youngsters a way to socially enjoy themselves.

We provide a fun racing day for beginner and amateur kids in both MX and off-road, and we prepare them for more formal racing by teaching them what they need to know. Everything from flags, to following trail markings, to how race days work is all part of our events.

Our events make use of junior MX tracks, flat tracks and where possible some flat off road loops. Each event offers something different depending on the facilities at the venue. Due to the nature of this sport we will be extremely strict when it comes to rider safety and riders must wear all required protective gear while riding in order to participate.

Who is Eligible?

(1) Moto Kids is for NOVICE and AMATEUR riders between the ages of 5 – 10 yours old.
Novice: Newcomer, a person who is new to the circumstances in which he or she is placed; beginner.

(3) Kids that are learning to ride. Kids that want to get used to riding with other kids.

What you can expect on the day

The kids all score in their respective class but they are grouped into 2 racing groups. Group 1 with the younger riders and Group 2 with the older riders. With each Group (1 & 2) we run a staggered start. This means all bikes line up in rows based on the make and model of the bike, this will be explained in depth in riders briefing. At registration all riders are issued with a sticker telling you which group you are in (1 or 2) and which row you will start on. Please be sure to make note of it so that when you line up for the race we can do so as quick as possible to get the race underway.

ENDURO: For the enduro they do a short visible off-road loop. We give a time limit and they must do as many laps as they can in that time limit. We traditionally start the day with the loop.

MX: there is a short practice followed by 2 racing heats of 8 minutes + 1 lap. There is sufficient time between each for resting. For the peewee’s the track has specifically been graded that they can easily go over all the jumps or in some cases, chicken runs are provided to go past bigger jumps.
